教材分析:

  本单元是第六单元主题和故事的延续。学生通过对第六单元及本单元的学习,对科幻故事已经有了很大的兴趣和热情,对故事的科学幻想部分有了自己的理解和想象。本课时以David Veter之死提出问题,引导学生思考解决问题的办法,从而引出外太空星球之旅,最后太空人的回访就在情理之中了。本课时侧重对学生听说读写的训练。

学情分析:

  刚上初中的学生活泼好动,好奇心比较强,对太空常识也有了一定的了解,所以对一些新奇的科幻故事比较感兴趣。但是,一方面,由于学生太空常识面的局限,再加上初中教材的难度增加,学生对故事的理解有一定的难度;另一方面,初一学生自我约束力比较差,学习中存在很大随意性,一些好的学习习惯还没有完全养成,遇到学习上的困难比较容易放弃。所以教师要尽量寓教于乐,采用多种教学策略,例如各种小游戏,小组讨论,常识竞赛,奖励榜样等,活跃课堂气氛,激发学生学习兴趣,吸引学生的注意力,从而在中小学教学衔接的过程中,实现教学目标。

教学目标:

  1.常识目标:通过听说读写等活动,进一步巩固本单元所学的方位介词、限定词和不定代词的用法,复习几个常用词组的意义和用法。

  2.能力目标:通过拓展阅读、听说训练,引导学生应用已经学过的阅读和听说技巧,从而提高学生的阅读和听说能力。

3.情感目标:拓宽学生对太空常识的了解,激发学生对外太空未知领域的探索兴趣,从而引导学生在将来的学习和工作中立志投身于我国的航空航天事业。

4.智力发展目标:通过Pair work Group discussion以及太空常识竞赛等活动,由浅入深的引导学生把注意力集中在课堂常识中,帮助学生做好中小学学习及思考习惯的衔接。

 

教学流程:

  Step 1. Greetings and warming up

Step 2.Pre-reading

Lead the students look at a picture of a boy, let them try to guess what happened in the story

Step 3. Reading

  Read the story and answer the questions. Then check the answer.

  Read aloud together and finish the part A2 on page 108.

  Explain the usage of some words to learn language points.

  Step 4. Turning point:

Turn to another topic by thinking about a question

  Step 5. About a space trip

      Look at the pictures and discuss the questions on page 109.

 Step 6. A further discussion about a space trip

      Now you and your partners are going to travel to the moon

      How will you get there?

What will you do before the trip?

What will happen when you land on the moon?

What will life on the moon be like?

Step 7. listening to the story about a trip to the moon and fill the blanks.

      Finish B2 on the page 109.

Step 8. Have a quiz competition about the space

      Use the constellation pictures to arouse the students’ interest.

      These questions help the students learn more about the space.

Step 9. Homework assignment.

     You have a penfriend, Simon. He comes from Mars. He visited your family last Sunday. And you will write a report about his visiting to the school newspaper .

Please finish it on your exercise books.
